Cookie Policy
Last updated: 12 February 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how velvetstreamerau.com uses cookies and similar technologies, and how we operate Google Consent Mode v2 to make sure no advertising or analytics tracking happens before you give us permission.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They allow a website to remember things between page loads — your language preference, for example, or whether you have already dismissed our cookie banner. Some cookies last only for the current session; others persist for a defined period.
2. How Google Consent Mode v2 works on this site
Before any Google scripts execute on velvetstreamerau.com, we set Google Consent Mode v2 defaults to 'denied' for ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization, analytics_storage and personalization_storage. Only functionality_storage and security_storage are granted by default, because they are required for the site to operate safely. This means no advertising or analytics tracking starts on your first visit. When you interact with our cookie banner, we update the relevant consent signals with gtag('consent', 'update', { ... }) and push an event named 'cookie_consent_update' to the dataLayer so our tooling can react to your choice.
3. The categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary — required for navigation, secure form submission and remembering your language and cookie preferences. These are always active and cannot be disabled. Analytics — anonymous, aggregated measurement of how the site is used; activates only with your consent. Advertising — measures whether you arrived from one of our Google Ads campaigns and supports remarketing; activates only with your consent. Personalisation — tailors content and ads to your interests; activates only with your consent.
4. Specific tools and providers
Google Ads (AW-18064110603) — used to measure ad performance and, with your consent, to support remarketing. Subject to Google's Ads Data Processing Terms. Google Analytics 4 — used, only if you have granted analytics consent, to understand which pages are useful and which are not. IP addresses are anonymised. Our own first-party preference cookie — stores your cookie banner choice in localStorage so the banner does not reappear unnecessarily.
5. Managing your preferences
You can change your choices at any time by selecting 'Cookie settings' in the footer of every page. If you clear your browser storage, the cookie banner will reappear on your next visit so that you can make a fresh choice. You can also block or delete cookies directly in your browser's settings.
6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We currently treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a request to reject all non-essential cookies on the visit it arrives with. We do not act on legacy Do Not Track headers, which are no longer standardised.
7. Updates to this policy
We may revise this Cookie Policy when we add or remove cookies, change tooling, or when regulators issue new guidance. Material changes are reflected in the 'last updated' date above. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy in respect of strictly necessary cookies; non-essential categories always require fresh consent.
